JAPAN'S CRUDE STEEL PRODUCTION FOR 8 CONSECUTIVE MONTHS OF DECLINE
According to the Japan iron and Steel Union (JISF) data, in April, Japan's crude steel production was 8 million 402 thousand tons, down 9.5%, down 6.1%, a decline of eighth consecutive months.
In converter steel production of 637.4 million tons, down 10.9% QoQ, down 6.3%; EAF steel production was 202.9 million tons, down 4.6% QoQ, down 5.4% year on year; pig iron production are 640.3 million tons, down 10.4% QoQ, down 3.1% year on year, fell for the first time since 3 months; hot rolled steel production was 744.9 million tons, down 11.2% QoQ, 5.5% year-on-year drop, continuous 6 months down, among them, 590.8 million tons of hot-rolled steel production, chain down 12.3%, special hot rolled steel production for 1.541 million tons, down 6.6%.
